Nzu, also known as calabash chalk, is a type of edible clay predominantly found in Nigeria and various West African nations. While its general name is calabash chalk, it is widely referred to as “nzu” in Igbo, “ndom” in Efik/Ibibio, and “eko” in Bini/Edo language within Nigeria. This natural clay holds cultural significance and is cherished for its culinary and traditional uses in these regions.

Waakye leaves, often called sorghum or sorghum leaves, are the English equivalent of the plant name. It is packed with vitamins and minerals that build up the body’s immune system and fight diseases, bacteria, and viruses that enter the cells.

Cinnamon sticks, also known as quills, are rolled pieces of tree bark, boasting a red-brown and rough surface to the touch. Within, these sticks reveal a darker, grey-brown hue with a smooth and powdery texture.
